Suffo rues Fifa decision
Cameroon and Coventry's Patrick Suffo
Coventry's Patrick Suffo says Cameroon will struggle
Patrick Suffo says Cameroon's chances of qualifying for the 2006 World Cup finals may already be over following Fifa's six-point deduction.

Fifa deducted the points from Cameroon's World Cup qualifying matches as a punishment for the Indomitable Lions' use of one-piece kits at the African Cup of Nations finals in Tunisia.

Suffo, who is currently playing for English first division side Coventry City, says it is almost impossible for Cameroon to qualify if they start their qualifying campaign six points down.

"This may well be the end of our campaign, we're in a tough group and for us to qualify we will have to win every match and that's not easy," he exclusively told BBC Sport.

Suffo points out that they are in a group alongside the likes of Egypt and the Ivory Coast, who will enjoy a head start.

"Everyone is disappointed that we can't start the qualifying matches on the same level as other teams," he said.

The midfielder says that although Cameroon has a good squad of players who could improve, the team's chances of getting them together for every match is always tough.

"Assembling all the good players for each qualifying match is nearly impossible," he says.

Suffo feels that the outcome of Cameroon's appeal against Fifa's penalty is key to the country's chances of making it to their fifth consecutive World Cup finals.

"We all look forward to the appeal by Fecafoot," he added.

Suffo, who missed this years African Cup of Nations in Tunisia, is hoping to make a return to the Indomitable Lions for their upcoming qualifying matches.

"I am close to the team, I am in touch with them and I hope to return very soon," he added.
