Kenya's Harambee Stars hope to play Uganda on Saturday |
Kenya have arranged a friendly match against Uganda in Kampala in the hope that Fifa will lift their international ban on Friday. If the match goes ahead on 7 August, it will be Kenya's first since their appearance at the African Cup of Nations finals in Tunisia.
The East Africans were banned by Fifa, world football's governing body, in June because of government interference in the running of their football federation.
Fifa's emergency committee will meet on 6 August to examine whether Kenya has made sufficient steps to implement the roadmap drawn up to restore order to the administration of football in the country.
Efforts have been made to regularise the situation and a Fifa delegation is expected in Nairobi on Friday to inaugurate new structures for Kenyan football.
Kenya's Harambee Stars are hoping to play in the 2006 World Cup qualifiers, having missed their opening three matches in Group Five.
They are scheduled to play against Malawi next month.
