Oliseh said he could help Nigeria in the short term |
Midfielder Sunday Oliseh has not ruled out a return to Nigeria's Super Eagles.
In an exclusive interview from his German base, the former Nigeria captain said a temporary comeback is a possibility.
"If I come back, it can only be short term," Oliseh told BBC Sport.
"But that is not good for the country.
"It is still important that new players are nurtured, so that they can carry the national team for the next six or seven years," he said.
Oliseh, a former captain of the Super Eagles, said he appreciated the positive comments made on his current form by manager Christian Chukwu, who recently declared his willingness to have him back in the national team.

"I am flattered by what Chukwu has said. It is nice and I must say that he is a good coach and a good person.
"At the moment, I have career matters to sort out, so we will see how things go in the future," Oliseh said.
Following the termination of his loan deal at Vfl Bochum, after an altercation with former Iranian team mate Vahid Hashemian, Oliseh said he is compelled to return to Borussia Dortmund, as he is contracted to the club for another year.
Manager Mathias Sammer had declared that Oliseh was surplus to requirements at Dortmund.
But Oliseh said the club must honour its legal obligations to him.
"Sammer can say what he wants. I still have one more year with Dortmund and they have to respect this contract.
"He [does not want me] there but he could not stop me from restoring my reputation at Bochum.
"But we will see what happens," the midfielder said.
