Camara is needed by Wolves for crucial league and FA Cup games |
English Premiership club Wolves have asked Senegal if they can delay Henri Camara's departure for the Nations Cup. They want him to play in next week's games against Manchester United and Liverpool.
Wolves, at the bottom of the Premiership table, are seven points from safety following their 2-0 defeat at Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
They face United at their home ground Molineux next Saturday and Liverpool in a rescheduled tie on 21 January.
Wolves manager Dave Jones is also keen to have Camara, recently voted Senegal's player of the year, available on Tuesday when Kidderminster visit Molineux in an FA Cup third round replay.
"The boy wants to stay for a couple more games and wants to play," said Jones.
"I don't see why he should have to go now anyway.
"The tournament doesn't start until the end of this month so there is no reason for players to be going this early.
"Camara wants to play in the FA Cup and then in our league games, but if we are told he has to go then we have no option but to send him.
"It's a crazy situation," Jones said.
