Ismaili and Enyimba go head-to-head
Enyimba coach Kadiri Ikhana
Enyimba coach Kadiri Ikhana has said his side will attack

The deadliest strike force in African club football will be unleashed on Friday when the African Champions League reaches its climax between Egyptian side Ismaili and Nigeria's Enyimba.

Ismaili's Mohamed Abougreisha and Malian Dramane Traore are the leading scorers in the competition with 14 goals between them and the Egyptian champions are hoping the pair can help overhaul the two-goal deficit suffered in the first leg.

Enyimba won the opening leg of the final 2-0 thanks to goals from Emeka Nwanna and Ndidi Anumnu.

Yet Abougreisha missed the first game in the Nigerian city of Aba through suspension, and was one of five Ismaili regulars missing.

Sayed Mowad and Mohamed Younes were serving suspensions, while Egyptian youth internationals Hosni Abd Raboh and Ahmed Fathi were playing in the World Youth Championship in the United Arab Emirates.

And the latter's return following Egypt's second round exit has boosted the hopes of the Ismailia-based team.

"We are determined to win the African title and ask our supporters for maximum effort," defender Amr Fahim told the Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram.

"We also ask that they be patient and don't pressurise the players."

Ismaili are seeking a third successive Egyptian success in the Champions League, following Al Ahly's and Zamalek's respective victories in 2001 and 2002, while Enyimba are looking for Nigeria's first-ever win in the competition.

The visitors are confident they can correct Nigeria's inability to conquer the continent at the highest club level, and have promised to maintain their attacking style as they look for victory.

"We are going all out to play as if we are at home," Enyimba coach Kadiri Ikhana promised.

"There is no going back."

"Everybody in the team is aware of what is needed."

While Ismaili may boast the Champions League's leading scorer in Dramane Traore, his record of 8 goals will come under threat from Enyimba's Anumnu, who has notched 7, while teammate Joetex Frimpong has found the back of the net on six occasions.

The final gets underway in Ismaili's home city of Ismailia at 1700 GMT.
