The Confederation of African Football (Caf) are to pay a special tribute to the late Cameroon midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe.

Following a meeting of the Caf executive committee on Thursday, the body decided to dedicate the 2004 African Super Cup to the former Indomitable Lion.

In addition, Caf have said they will give revenue from the game to Foe's family.

Relatives of the late midfielder as well as Cameroon FA and govermental officials will be invited for the event, during which Foe will be posthumously honoured with Caf's highest award - the gold Order of Merit.

The match will be played between the winners of the 2003 African Champions League and the Cup Winners' Cup early next year.

Tunisian side Etoile Sahel won the Cup Winners' Cup earlier this month, while Ismaili of Egypt and Nigeria's Enyimba meet on Friday to determine the winners of the Champions League.

Marc-Vivien Foe died on 26 June in the French city of Lyon after collapsing in the semi-final of the Confederations Cup against Colombia.

The Indomitable Lion collapsed unchallenged in the 72nd minute and died shortly afterwards, despite desperate attempts to revive him.

An autopsy later declared that Foe had died of natural causes related to a heart problem.

On 11 November, a charity match was played in the midfielder's honour in Lyon and all funds generated by the match were donated to a charitable fund chaired by Foe's wife Marie-Louise as well as to the completion of a sports complex Foe was building.

Foe earned 65 caps for Cameroon, won two African Nations Cup in 2000 and 2002 and played in the 1994 and 2002 World Cup finals.

During his career, the 28-year-old played for Cameroon's Canon Yaounde, French sides Lens and Lyon as well as English Premiership teams West Ham United and Manchester City.
