World football governing body Fifa has appointed a three-man trust to administer a $750,000 grant for the education of the children of the late Cameroon midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe.

Fifa deputy general-secretary Jerome Champagne, the organisation's deputy director of finance Markus Katter and an unnamed administrator will be in charge of disbursing money to the family.

The special grant was approved by the Fifa executive committee during last month's meeting in Doha, Qatar.

"The guidelines for the trust and the modalities for disbursing money from the fund will be discussed with the late player's family," Fifa media officer John Schumaker told the BBC Sport website.

Foe, who died while playing for Cameroon during their Confederations Cup game against Colombia on 26 June, left behind wife Marie-Louise and three children.

"I think that we have shown our commitment to looking after the welfare of Foe's family," said Fifa executive member Ismail Bhamjee, who sits on the organisation's finance committee.

A game in Foe's honour will be played on 11 November in the French city of Lyon, involving members of the Indomitable Lions and a selection of players from Foe's previous clubs in France and England as well as other special invitees.
