Fifa helps Foe's family
Foe being taken off during the game against Colombia
Foe died from a heart condition
Marc-Vivien Foe's family are to receive $750,000 from Fifa's humanitarian fund to help educate his children.

The Cameroon midfielder died after he collapsed during a Confederations Cup match against Colombia in June.

Fifa's announcement comes ahead of their extraordinary congress scheduled between 19 and 20 October in Doha, Qatar.

The grant will come as a huge boost to Foe's family who are yet to receive the financial assistance they were promised in the wake of his death.

Cameroon's government are yet to find the money they pledged to help complete a sports complex that Foe had started.

In September, Foe's father, Martin, told the BBC Sport website that the family is waiting for the government to honour its commitment.

But English Premiership side Manchester City, Foe's last club, have offered a house to his wife and three children.

Fifa, in conjunction with the Cameroon federation, Fecafoot, have also planned a charity game to be played in the French city of Lyon on 11 November.

It will feature a side made up of the best players from Foe's former clubs - Manchester City and French clubs Lens and Lyon, who will play against the Indomitable Lions.
