Zumdick has been approachde by Hamburg boss Klaus Topmoeller |
Ghana's German coach Ralf Zumdick remains uncertain about whether he will guide the Black Stars through the group stage of the 2006 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifying.
Zumdick has been linked with a move to German side Hamburg SV as assistant manager, and the 45-year-old admits to being in two minds about the jobs.
"There are a lot of good things on both sides but I will talk to the Ghana Football Association this week and make a decision," the Black Stars coach told the BBC Sport website.
Zumdick's contract expires at the end of this month but he may be tempted to stay in his position by the possibility of taking the Ghanaians to their first-ever World Cup finals in his homeland.
"Managing Ghana in the search for a World Cup place is a major challenge and honour," he added.
The Black Stars have been drawn alongside DR Congo, Cape Verde, Uganda and South Africa in Group Two, and Zumdick believes that Bafana Bafana present the biggest obstacle to his team reaching their maiden World Cup.
"The structures in South Africa are good so they can organise friendly matches against the likes of England, which shows that they are on a high level," he said
Ghana have failed to beat the South Africans in three competitive matches since 1996, but Zumdick believes his team can change all that.
And the German is confident that the Black Stars can reach their maiden World Cup finals in 2006.
"DR Congo, Burkina Faso, Uganda and Cape Verde are countries you cannot underestimate but we are one of the strongest teams in this group," he explained.
"We will respect our opponents but we will fear no one and play for victory."
