Zumdick has been approached by Hamburg's manager |
Ghana may soon be looking for a new national coach after it emerged that their manager Ralf Zumdick has been offered a coaching job in the German Bundesliga.
Zumdick, who is contracted to manage the Black Stars until the end of December, is being tapped to become assistant manager of Hamburg.
Should Zumdick decide to pack his bags and go, he will team up with Klaus Topmoeller, who took over as Hamburg manager four weeks ago.
The pair have worked together before at another Bundesliga side Vfl Bochum.
"I have a good relationship with Klaus and would like to work with him again," Zumdick told BBC Sport website.
"But my contract with Ghana runs out at the end of the year and I'm yet to receive any word from the GFA about their plans.
"If they're prepared to give me a long-term deal, I'll seriously consider it but I'm also open to other offers."
The Black Stars were the last country to book a place in the group stage of the 2006 Nations Cup and World Cup qualifiers, after beating Somalia 7-0 on aggregate.
"I'm happy that I've taken Ghana to the group stage of the qualifiers and I think that they could make it to the World Cup finals this time.
"But it's difficult to really make firm plans about my future right now, as I have received no firm offer from Ghana or Hamburg.
"I told Klaus that I was concentrating on winning Ghana's qualifying games against Somalia, so we've not had time to talk about his proposal."
If Zumdick makes the decision to leave Ghana, the west African nation would be forced to recruit their fourth manager in 15 months.
Yugoslav Milan Zivadinovic and fellow-German Burkhard Ziese were the previous occupants of the post.
