The Ivory Coast qualified for the second round of the World Youth Championship on Friday after a 0-0 draw with Saudi Arabia in Al-Ain. The Saudis, who needed a win to stand any chance of advancing to the round of 16, attacked early in search of a goal but failed to convert any of their chances.
In the 19th minute, Naji Majrashi collected the ball in midfield and dribbled past the Ivory Coast defence to feed Issa al-Mahyani, whose shot was saved by Drissa Toure.
Saudi Arabia's biggest chance came in the 67th minute when a Majrashi shot hit the crossbar.
The Ivorians finished Group E with five points, while Saudi Arabia ended up with two points.
