Wolves boss backs Camara
Senegal striker Henri Camara
Henri Camara has scored his first goal in English football

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Dave Jones has backed Senegalese striker Henri Camara to become a major success in the English Premiership, following his debut strike on Saturday.

Camara, who has nine goals in 39 appearances for Senegal, opened his goalscoring account in England during Wolves' thrilling 4-3 victory over Leicester City.

Having trailed 3-0, Wolves capped a wonderful comeback courtesy of Camara's 86th minute match-winner.

Jones praised Camara for his hardwork since joining the club.

"Henri's a very quick player with great, quick feet - and he has an abundance of pace," said Jones.

"The one thing which had been lacking until now had been the finishing. But we felt that would come, so we stood by him."

Camara had a chance to register his first goal for Wolves in the 11th minute of Saturday's game, when he shot tamely at the Leicester goalkeeper.

But the Senegal international atoned for that miss by hitting the dramatic winner.

"He's been getting quite a lot of chances this season," the Wolves boss explained.

"But he's been missing them too, and perhaps the one he scored to win it for us was probably the hardest chance of the game, as it bobbled up as it was coming to him."

Wolves face the prospect of losing Camara for three weeks - during the Nations Cup finals in Tunisia - and Jones admits that Camara's absence could have a negative effect on the team.

"I'll just have to hope Senegal get knocked out early [so he can return to the club]," Jones said.
