Cameroon claim men's gold
Fans at the All Africa Games football finals
Nigerians reacted angrily to the defeat
Cameroon stunned 60,000 Nigerian fans by retaining their All Africa Games title with a 2-0 win over the host nation in Abuja.

Canon Yaounde striker Marcus Mokake Mwambo was Cameroon's hero, as he struck twice for the central Africans.

He scored the first goal in the 42nd minute, when he pounced on a rebound from Nigeria goalkeeper Rotimi Sunday and sealed victory with his winning strike in the 83rd.

The capacity crowd showed their frustration with Nigeria's failure to score by throwing empty plastic water bottles on to the pitch, which interrupted play for several minutes.

Other disgruntled fans were locked out of the stadium after the Games organisers had declared free entry to the men's and women's finals.

Nigeria had the best of the early exchanges and seemed to be dictating proceedings but Cameroon grew in confidence and eventually created the chances in the first half.

Stung by Cameroon's first half goal, Nigeria launched a series of incursions in the second half but found the opposing goalkeeper in great form, as he pulled off a string of great saves.

It is the second time in three years that Cameroon have beaten Nigeria on home soil during the final of an African event - The Indomitable Lions beat the Super Eagles on penalties to win their third Nations Cup title in 2000.
