Nigeria's women claim gold
The Super Falcons on the podium after winning the gold medal
Nigeria remains supreme in women's football
Nigeria's Super Falcons have banished memories of a poor World Cup by claiming the gold medal at the All Africa Games.

Nigeria beat South Africa 1-0 in a tight match that looked like it was heading for extra time.

The Super Falcons had the best chances and eventually broke the deadlock when Blessing Akudo scored four minutes from time.

Nigeria add the All African Games gold medal to the Nations Cup title they claimed in December 2002

The win came in front of a massive 60,000 crowd in the Abuja National Stadium, with many more spectators locked out after the games organisers decided to offer free entry to the football finals.
