Mali name new coach
Mali's national team
Mali will be at the Nations Cup
Henri Stambouli has been named as the new coach of Mali's national team.

Stambouli will replace fellow Frenchman Christian Dalger, who was sacked despite getting the Eagles through the qualification series for next year's Nations Cup finals in Tunisia.

The Malian Football Federation said they were unimpressed with Dalger's training methods and the way he handled team selection matters.

Stambouli is due in the capital, Bamako, within the next few days.

A former coach of French side Sedan, Stambouli will be having his second coaching experience with an African national team.

He previously had a stint in charge of Guinea's Syli Nationale.
