The manager that will lead Nigeria's Super Eagles to the 2004 Nations Cup finals will be named on Wednesday.
Taiwo Ogunjobi, secretary-general of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), told BBC Sport website that the name will be announced after NFA chairman Ibrahim Galadima concludes consultations with sports minister Musa Mohammed.
"We have made our choice on the man we want but we need to speak to the minister before we make a formal annoucement.
"If everything goes well, we should name our new coach between 1100 and 1200 gmt on Wednesday," the secretary-general said.
Two of the three coaches that made the final shortlist - former England captain Bryan Robson and Frenchman Alain Giresse - were interviewed by Ogunjobi and a member of the NFA's technical committee during their visit to England last week.
"Henri Kasperczak, who was the third person on our list, was unable to see us, as he had more pressing commitments to attend to.
"But he sent his business manager to represent him," Ogunjobi said.
One of the first tasks for the new Nigerian manager would be to organise the country's Nations Cup training plans, which have been delayed by the search for a new manager.
Nigeria's last foreign trainer was Dutchman Jo Bonfrere, who was sacked in 2001 after a string of poor results.
