 Kilambe has signed a three-year deal |
Zambian striker Rotson Kilambe has joined South African side Sundowns - his first foreign contract since a drugs ban.
Kilambe was handed an indefinate ban by the world governing body, Fifa, in March 2001 after testing positive for cannabis.
The ban was lifted in September last year and the striker has been back playing club football in Zambia.
The 24-year-old has agreed a three-year deal with Sundowns following a successful two-week trial.
The player's manager in South Africa Benjee Nkhato told BBC Sport Online that the deal was finalised on Thursday.
"I have been negotiating since last Tuesday. Kilambe signed a three-year deal," said Nkhato, who declined to disclose the transfer fee.
But he said that according to the terms of the contract Kilambe would be on loan for an initial one-year period with Sundowns having an option of extending it for two years.
Nkhato said both Kilambe's club in Zambia, Zanaco and Sundowns had agreed to the terms of the contract.
Kilambe joins fellow-Zambian defender Sashi Chalwe at Sundowns.
