Zambia striker Rotson Kilambe has said people are still yet to see the best of his form, after he scored a brace in a Cosafa Castle Cup quarter-final against Mozambique on Saturday.

"This is just the beginning of everything," said Kilambe at Lusaka's Independence Stadium.

"I know myself well and people are yet to see what I have in store for them."

Kilambe was making his international return after serving a Fifa-imposed ban for a failed drugs test, added that he wanted to prove he was still a great striker.

"That ban obviously affected me because I stayed without playing active football until this year, but that's an old chapter," he said.

"I thank God for his mercy. It's good that I am back again on the pitch and the only thing I can promise my fans is that they should continue supporting me because I won't disappoint them."

Man of the match

Kilambe added his immediate plan is to be part of a team that can win the Cosafa Castle Cup this year.

"I believe Zambia can do it. We have a team of young players who I believe know what it means to play for the national team," he said.
Zambia coach Patrick Phiri
The result was a great start for Phiri

Zambia beat the Black Mambas 3-0 and Kilambe was later voted man of the match after his two long range strikes.

The game was also coach Patrick Phiri's first assignment for the Chipolopolo.

Phiri said he was happy with the performance, especially that his team had been written off before the tie.

"It's a nice start for all of us and I am confident we will continue with this performance," he said.
