Johnson is critical of Ghana's FA |
Ghana defender Sam Johnson has advised the FA not to sack coach Burkhard Ziese as a result of the Black Stars failure to qualify for the Nations Cup. Johnson said Ziese needs time to rebuild the national team and should be given the required support to do so.
"I hope that he would be left alone to do his work.
"The Ghana FA knows he is competent, or they wouldn't have given him the job."
Johnson said the FA's poor management of the national team was the primary cause of their failure to qualify for Tunisia 2004.
"There is very little respect for the foreign-based players and this has not helped the Black Stars.
"If we continue like this, players in the national team will come and go and nothing will be achieved.
"How can we be in a situation that we cannot beat countries like Rwanda?"
The defender said that he would now concentrate on his Turkish club career with Gaziantepspor.
"As we have failed to qualify for the Nations Cup, I can focus on my career with my club.
"But I will always be available to play for Ghana if I am still wanted."
