Brugada says Fadiga is fit to play |
A Spanish heart specialist who has examined Senegal forward Khalilou Fadiga has said the player's present condition should not stop him from continuing with his career. "There is nothing to prevent him playing football," said Pedro Brugada.
"What I found after examining him is that he has extra-systole (which means his heartbeats can be irregular).
"But that is something you find in normal people and sports people. I see a lot of both and that causes no problem at all."
Fadiga signed for Inter Milan from French club Auxerre earlier this month but Inter's medical consultant Bruno Caru said Fadiga had an abnormal heartbeat which could put his life at risk.
Last month, Cameroon midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe collapsed during a Confederations Cup game in France.
He died shortly afterwards and an autopsy revealed a heart problem.
The Italian Olympic Committee (Coni)is expected to give a final ruling on Fadiga's health by the end of the week.
