Nigeria coach Christian Chukwu said tough lessons have been learnt from their 0-3 loss to Brazil on Wednesday.

"We made many mistakes, especially losing concentration at the back," Chukwu told reporters.

"Brazil took their chances and got three goals but we failed to take ours.

"I'll be using these lessons to build for the future, which has always been our focus."

Despite the long-haul flight from Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilians did not find it hard to adjust to the six-hour time difference, as they battled the Eagles in a physical contest.

Gil's clever chip, a header from Luis Fabiano and Adriano's shot into the roof of the Eagles net resulted in the three Brazilian goals.

The world champions ball possession, accurate passing and creativity impressed everyone, including captain Jay-Jay Okocha.

"Brazil gave us a high-class and good quality game and you could see they had that extra quality overall.

"We can only learn from them because we had lots of players in our side that are not experienced."

Brazil's coach Carlos Alberto Parreira maintained the 3-0 result was less important.

"I'm happy both sides were able to entertain the spectators and the Nigerians didn't do too badly because of the troubles they created for us.

"But our defence was very solid and our midfield and attack played real Brazilian football."

One more point is what the Nigerians, already group leaders with seven, require to make sure of clinching the group's sole ticket for Tunisia 2004.
