The Zambian government has given the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ)$50,000 for their Nations Cup against Tanzania.
Sports minister Gladys Nyirongo said the money was meant for paying players allowances and other logistical needs.
She said government was responding to a FAZ request for financial assistance.
Last week, FAZ submitted a request for $100,000, to enable the association fly to Tanzania for Saturday's tussle.
The Chipolopolo have already left for Tanzania, stopping en route in Kigali for two friendly games against Rwanda.
Zambia have four points - out of a possible six - from their first two matches in Nations Cup qualifying group three.
In contrast, Tanzania have lost both of their opening matches and were beaten 4-0 in a friendly in Kenya on Sunday.
