The latest news as Africa prepares for Nations Cup qualifying at the end of March. Lemerre is rebuilding Tunisia |
18 March: Tunisia
Tunisia coach Roger Lemerre has picked two newcomers, defender Zied Damoussi and striker Hichem Ben Khaled, for a 23-man squad to play in a tournament in Tunis later this month. Cameroon, Ghana and Madagascar will join the hosts for the two-day event which will be played on March 27 and 30 at Tunis Rades Stadium.
Tunisia, who face Senegal in a friendly at the end of April, will use the series as part of preparations for the African Nations Cup finals they host next year.

March 18: Zimbabwe
Nine foreign-based players have been called to face Seychelles. Coach Sunday Marimo is leaving little to chance and will have a powerful strike force on hand for what Zimbabwe hope will be a goal glut.
Strikers Benjani Mwaruwaru from Auxerre in France and Peter Ndlovu, from Sheffield United are likely to lead the attack. Zimbabwe have won both of their previous qualifiers and will be seeking to help themselves to a handy lead on goal difference.
March 18: Nigeria
Midfielder Austin 'Jay-Jay' Okocha says he may not make it for the game against Malawi.
The player says that his Bolton club need points to avoid relegation and that although they have no game that clashes with the Nations Cup qualifier he wants to concentrate on avoiding the drop. 16 March: Malawi/Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe and Malawi drew 0-0 in an uneventful game in Harare. While Zimbabwe coach Sunday Marimo was pleased with the performance of his locally-based team, Malawi coach Alan Gillett said the Flames played below expectations.
Gillett said 37-year-old Ernest Mtawali will join the squad in camp this week ahead of a friendly against Zambia and the Nations Cup qualifier against Nigeria. The match was Zimbabwe's first match since beating Eritrea 1-0 in October and will be their only friendly before hosting Seychelles in the Nations Cup.
16 March: Uganda
Coach Paul Hasule says he is happy with the teams build-up after friendlies with Tanzania and Kenya. The Cranes drew 0-0 in Arusha and 2-2 with Kenya in Nairobi. They are due to play either Burundi or Zambia in another friendlly this weekend in Kampala.
