South Africa's 2010 World Cup bid campaign director Danny Jordaan said the friendly international would attract worldwide television coverage, making it the perfect forum to officially launch the campaign. South Africa will also invite members of Fifa's executive committee, who vote on the final decision in April 2004, to attend the game and have a first-hand look at the country's facilities and infra structure. It will be the first time England play an international in South Africa and only the second meeting between the two countries, who played last at Old Trafford in Manchester in 1997. The bid is to also have an African launch on 30 April when South Africa play Jamaica in another friendly international, possibly in Cape Town although the venue has yet to be decided. Jordaan said that game would be beamed live throughout Africa in another attempt to showpiece South Africa's campaign. Jordaan, who was formerly the chief executive officer of the South African Football Association, has already moved into new offices and set about building the infrastructure for the South African campaign. South Africa are one of six African countries bidding for the right to host the 2010 finals. The other five are Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria and Tunisia. | Top Africa stories now: Links to more Africa stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
