Goals from Czech midfielder Tomas Galasek and Egyptian star Mido gave Dutch giants Ajax a 2-1 win over Egypt giants Al Ahly in a friendly in Cairo.

Mido scored the crucial second for Ahly, traditional rivals of his old club Zamalek.

Some 60,000 Ahly fans packed into Cairo international stadium to watch a hugely enjoyable game.

Galasek opened the scoring in the 25th minute, but Mido did not get the second until the 69th minute.

Promising Ahly player Wael Goma made it 2-1 two minutes later.

Both teams wasted several easy scoring opportunities in the second half.
