Who is Africa's best?
Samuel Kuffour celebrates winning the European Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2001
Ghana's Samuel Kuffour won the award in 2001
There are just a few days left for you to vote for the 2002 BBC African Footballer of the Year award.

Over one hundred different players were nominated, and we've now produced a shortlist of five who go forward for the final vote.

  • Joseph Yobo (Nigeria/Everton)
  • El Hadji Diouf (Senegal/Liverpool)
  • Ahmed Mido Hossam (Egypt/Ajax)
  • Pape Bouba Diop (Senegal/Lens)
  • John Utaka (Nigeria/Lens)
The winner will be announced here on Friday.

Everyone who votes has the chance of winning a World Space satellite radio.

Last year the award went to Ghana's Samuel Osei Kuffour, who won the European Champions League with Bayern Munich.
