Hassan dropped from Egypt squad
Ahmed Hassan in action at the African Nations Cup
Hassan was part of Egypt's Nations Cup side
Egypt midfielder Ahmed Hassan has been surprisingly dropped by national team coach Mohsen Saleh for two friendly matches being played this month.

The Turkey-based player was left out of the 24-man squad to face Tunisia on 20 November and Nigeria five days later.

However, Salah is insisting that Egyptian Player of the Year, Mohamed Barakat, join up with the squad.

This is despite his club, Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli Jeddah, wanting him to stay for key league matches.

Barakat won his Egyptian Footballer of the Year title after helping Saleh's previous club Ismailia win the Egyptian championship in May.

Egypt squad:

Goalkeepers: Essam El Hadary (Al Ahli), Abdelwahed El Sayed (Zamalek), Nader El Sayed (Akratito, Greece).

Defenders: Medhat Abdelhadi (Zamalek), Amr El Desoky (Al Masry), Abdelzaher El Saqqa (Genclerbirligi, Turkey), Bechir El Tabei (Zamalek), Amr Fahim (Ismailia), Wael Gomaa, Shady Mohamed (both Al Ahli), Hany Said (Bari, Italy).

Midfielders: Mohamed Abdalla (Ismailia), Ayman Abdel Aziz (Malatyaspor, Turkey), Tamer Abdelhamied (Zamalek), Mohamed Barakat (Al Ahli Jeddah, Saudi Arabia), Tarek El Sayed (Zamalek), Khamis Gaafar (Ismailia), Mohamed Gouda (Al Ahli), Ekrami Ibrahim (Haras Hedood), Sayed Meeawad (Ismailia).

Strikers: Abdelhalim Ali (Zamalek), Ahmed Belal (Al Ahli), Ahmed Hossam (Ajax Amsterdam, Netherlands), Sameh Youssef (Arab Contractors).
