The team's European-based players have been unhappy with a threat by Fecafoot to replace them with young talent. Many Cameroonians were critical of the Indomitable Lions first round exit at the World Cup. Five players from the World Cup team were dropped from last month's training camp, which soured relations between players and team officials. Head coach Winfried Schafer said the closed door meeting was "very important so that we don't wash our dirty linen in public." Striker Patrick Mboma, defender Raymond Kalla and goalkeeper Alioum Boukar were the notable absentees from the meeting. Sports minister Pierre Bidoung Mpkatt said the strained relations between players and officials need to be repaired. "The players must show loyalty, patriotism and total confidence in the authorities so that we can work for more victories," he said. | Top Africa stories now: Links to more Africa stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
