Scoglio makes shock return
Francesco Scoglio
Scoglio blamed his dismissal on FA president Gaddafi
Libya's Football Federation has reversed its decision to dismiss coach Francesco Scoglio and disband the national team.

A Libyan official said Scoglio would be in charge when the squad flies to Italy on Saturday.

"The Libyan Football Federation has rescinded the move to dissolve the national team and end the contract with Professor Scoglio," the official said.

Scoglio will be in a training camp to prepare the North Africans for their forthcoming African Nations Cup qualifiers.

The Italian coach was dismissed after Libya secured a 3-2 victory over DR Congo in a Nations Cup qualifying match on 9 September.

The official added that the decision to re-instate Scoglio had been made by the Federation's head, Al-Saadi Gaddafi - the man Scoglio blamed for forcing him out.

Gaddafi, who is also a Libyan international, had been dropped from the national team by Scoglio.

But the official confirmed that Gaddafi would travel to ltaly with the squad, raising the prospect of subsequent problems in the Libyan set-up.
