The Zimbabwean Benjamin Mwaruwari is continuing to make a name for himself in the French first division.

He scored twice in Auxerre's 3-1 win over Sedan.

The two second-half goals took his tally to five in the league and the joint second top scorer with DR Congo's Shabani Nonda.

Cameroonian Pius Ndiefi scored Sedan's only goal in the 85th minute.

Shabani Nonda was also on the score sheet, scoring a goal, as Monaco went on to beat defending champions Lyon 3-1.

Senegal's Souleymane Camara scored Monaco's third, dribbling past three defenders to before hitting the target. Monaco are currently fifth in the table.

Turkey

Ghanaian striker Augustine Ahinful scored his third of the season when he netted the only goal of the match for Ankaragucu who beat league leaders Genclerbirligi.

England

Nigerian Nwankwo Kanu gave Arsenal a last gasp winner in the 90th minute with a close range strike.

The shot gave Arsenal a 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers.

It was Kanu's first of the season after he was pardoned by the Nigeria FA for absenting himself from an African Nations Cup qualifier against Angola.

Holland

There was one African goal in the Dutch league. Gambian Jatou Ceesay was on target for Willem II in their 1-1 draw with Nijmegen.

Belgium

Rwandan Desire Mbonabucya scored a goal in each half for St Truiden in their 5-1 rout of Mechelen.

Gabon's Valery Ondo completed the defeat of Antwerp by scoring in the 81st minute in his Mons' 3-0 win.

Ivorian Arouna Kone scored the only goal in Lierse's victory over Standard Liege.

Germany

There was only one African goal in the Bundesliga.

Victor Agali scored the winnig goal for Schalke 04 in their 2-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach, putting them in third position.
