Star names dropped for Tunisia friendly
Zoubier Baya
Baya was Tunisia's best player during World Cup qualifying

Tunisia's World Cup captain Adel Sellimi and the country's star midfielder Zoubier Baya have both been left out of the squad for the friendly against former world champions France later this month.

At the weekend, a squad of 21 players was announced by the country's caretaker coach Youssef Zouaoui but saw the likes of Baya and Sellimi dropped for the match in Tunis on 21 August.

Also left out was Turkish-based midfielder Riadh Bouazizi and the former Etoile Sahel pair, Ziad Jaziri and Kaies Ghodhbane, who have left for Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates and Al Saad in Qatar respectively.

There were two uncapped named in the party, Jaouhar Mnari from champions Esperance and Stade Tunisien's striker Mohamed Selliti.

The majority of those picked, however, remain over from the World Cup finals in June, where Tunisia played against Belgium, Russia and hosts Japan and went home after the first round.

The friendly, which marks only the third African country that France have played a friendly international in despite their long-standing relationship with the continent, will be the first match in charge for the European Champions' new coach Jacques Santini.
