| Tuesday, 21 May, 2002, 17:26 GMT 18:26 UK Hassan twins suspended The twins are often in trouble with the EFA The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has suspended the Zamalek and Egypt twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan until the end of the season following gestures they made during Zamalek's 6-1 defeat to Al Ahly in the Cairo derby. They have also been fined, with Hossam ordered to pay $2,000 and his brother $4,000. The fines vary because of the difference in the strength of the gestures made to the Ahly fans. The Ahly board are disappointed at what they see as a leinient punishment considering that their player Kammoona was suspended for one year after a similar incident. The twins, once darlings of the Ahly fans until they publicly attacked the legendary club chairman Saleh Selim, have a long history of suspensions and fines. And the twins are also in trouble away from the pitch. They may shortly be facing charges of smuggling two cars inside Egypt without paying the required taxes and customs. | See also: 11 May 02 | CAF club competitions 22 Apr 02 | Other News 15 May 02 | Sports Talk Top Africa stories now: Links to more Africa stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
