Hippolyte hopes Charlie Mpi can boost Maidenhead attack
Hippolyte was appointed as Maidenhead boss in 2006
Maidenhead United manager Johnson Hippolyte says he hopes new signing Charlie Mpi will help to strengthen his side's attacking options.
Hippolyte signed the 23-year-old forward from Ryman League Premier side Wealdstone earlier this week.
"We definitely need strikers because we are lacking goals in that area," Hippolyte told BBC Berkshire.
"He [Mpi] has a lot of pace, energy and he's got a good attitude, so let's see what he can do."
Hippolyte added: "Lee Barney is also out injured at the moment so we needed an extra body up front."
Maidenhead were knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend, losing 1-0 to Blue Square Premier side Forest Green Rovers in the fourth qualifying round.
Although he is still disappointed after the loss, Hippolyte says his team, who are 16th in the Blue Square Bet South, must now focus on improving their league form.
"We want to bounce back from the cup defeat," he said. "We know we should be higher up in the league, so we now have to focus on climbing our way back up the table."
