New Dover manager Martin Hayes got off to the perfect start with a 1-0 win over Woking in his first game.
After missing a first half penalty from Jon Wallis, Elliot Charles scored the game's only goal from close range on 48 minutes.
Hayes told BBC Radio Kent: "The boys are carrying on from last year where they defended very well."
Dartford scored a late penalty to draw with Havant, Welling also drew, Bromley won but Ebbsfleet lost.
Ryan Hayes' late penalty gave Dartford a share of the points in their Blue Square Bet South debut as the game ended 2-2. Danny Harris had given the Darts the lead in the first half.
Warren McBean, who re-signed for the club just two days before the match, scored Bromley's winner in a 2-1 victory over Dorchester. New signing Paul Vines netted their first.
But Ebbsfleet United lost their first game since relegation from Blue Square Bet Premier 2-1 at home to Maidenhead. Calum Willock scored on his debut but it was to no avail, even though Maidenhead ended the game with nine men after having two men sent off.
Manager Liam Daish said: "Disappointed but it is the first game. Reflecting on it, we had enough chances to have that game sewn up."
Seven of the 10 Kent teams in FA Cup action won, putting them five wins from the first round proper. The biggest scorers were Hythe, who beat Bookham from the Combined Counties League 4-0.
