Keith Andrews was left disappointed by the Republic of Ireland's second half display in the 2-0 defeat by Brazil after a promising opening 45 minutes.
Andrews was unlucky to deflect a Robinho shot past Shay Given a minute before the break and the ex-Manchester City star added a glorious second goal.
"I think we played fantastic stuff in the first half and were probably the better team," said Andrews.
"But I felt it was a poor second half for us really."
Andrews added:"It was definitely a game of two halves. We stifled them in the first half and we really deserved to be 1-0 up rather than 1-0 down.
"The second half was maybe a case of them upping their game. But we didn't play as well and we were a little bit casual at times, myself included."
Andrews felt that his first-half own goal should have been cancelled out for offside.
"I was actually the closest to Robinho when he was making his run in behind me, so I just let him go assuming the flag was going to go up.
"But again (as at the Stade de France), it didn't.
"It's just one of those things, hopefully we'll eventually get the rub of the green."
