FA rule out early Fabio Capello exit from England job
Capello is under contract with England until the Euro 2012 tournament
Football Association chief executive Ian Watmore believes Fabio Capello will remain as England head coach until after the 2012 European Championship.
There have been rumours that Capello may stand down after this summer's World Cup in South Africa.
And Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has been touted as a possible successor.
But Watmore said: "We expect Fabio Capello to remain in the post for the duration of his contract, which runs through to the summer of 2012."
Capello oversaw a highly successful World Cup qualifying campaign after being appointed as England manager.
He signed a four-and-a-half-year deal in December 2007 - reportedly worth £6m a year - with an opt out clause after the 2010 tournament.
But the Italian has given no public indication that he intends to stand down before Euro 2012, the draw for which is due to take place in Warsaw on February 7.
Fulham manager Hodgson could be a potential successor whenever Capello does leave, with speculation being fuelled by the 62-year-old's decision to sign a new one-year rolling contract at Craven Cottage earlier this week.
But Watmore insisted there was no foundation in any rumours.
"Reports linking Roy Hodgson or any manager with the England job post the World Cup are just not true," he added.
"Fabio Capello has also made it clear that he expects to continue in the role after the World Cup and throughout the Euro 2012 campaign."
Capello is now involved with planning for the World Cup and a friendly against Egypt has been arranged for 3 March.
Negotiations are ongoing with Mexico about a match between the two sides in May, again at Wembley, as Capello views them as the ideal opponents for the opening game against the United States.
England will conclude their pre-tournament build-up with an altitude training camp in Austria that is set to end against Japan before the Three Lions head to their base in Rustenburg at the beginning of June.
Their opening group game against Algeria takes place in Cape Town on 18 June.
