Guernsey Rovers AC beat Sylvans 2-0 on Saturday to earn their first league points in more than a year.
Goals from Jamie Ferbrache and Blaine Queripel handed the win to Rovers, who finished bottom of Senior County Division One in 2008/09 with no points.
"There's been a lot of work behind the scenes and it meant a lot to a lot of people," said coach Mac Gallienne.
"I thought it was a very even game, but we looked more dangerous going forward. Hopefully it can give us the start that we need."
