Ivybridge go to top of Peninsula

Ivybridge Town are two points clear at the top of the South West Peninsula League after a 3-2 win at fourth-placed Torpoint Athletic on Saturday.

Adam Carter gave Torpoint the lead but Ben Smallridge equalised.

Torpoint went back in front through Carter before Ryan Fice drew Ivybridge level again before Jamie Middleton secured the win two minutes later.

Elsewhere Holsworthy came off the foot of the table with a first point of the season after a 3-3 draw at Clyst.

Clyst Rovers 3-3 Holsworthy
Dartmouth 3-1 Elburton Villa
Newton Abbot Spurs 1-1 Witheridge
Torpoint Athletic 2-3 Ivybridge Town

Holsworthy were 2-0 up through Mark Bettis and Ian Rowe goals but Clyst came back to lead 3-2 before Rowe got his second five minutes from time.

They are now second from bottom and are two points off Elburton Villa, who lost 3-1 at Dartmouth.

Darts are second, two points behind Ivybridge with a game in hand. Simon Lewcock scored two for Dartmouth, who are the only unbeaten side left in the league.

Newton Abbot Spurs and Witheridge stay 14th and 16th respectively after they drew 1-1.
