Late goals cost Linnets and Diss

King's Lynn in action
King's Lynn conceded a last minute equaliser at Bromsgrove
There was bitter disappointment for King's Lynn and Diss Town as both conceded late to drop valuable points.

The promotion-chasing Linnets looked set for a vital victory at Bromsgrove Rovers thanks to John Turner's eighth goal of the season.

But deep into injury time the hosts pulled level to share the spoils, leaving Lynn to rue missed chances.

That draw, combined with wins for Team Bath and Halesowen, saw Lynn slip to third in the Southern Premier Division.

They now face a tricky trip to Hitchin on Tuesday.

It was a similar story for Diss in their attempts to make an immediate return to the Ridgeons Premier Division.

Danny Partridge gave the Tangerines the lead against fellow promotion hopefuls Halstead Town at Brewers Green Lane and they should have been out of sight.

A number of chances went begging, though, and there was an inspired performance from Halstead keeper Paul Rutherford who was very impressive throughout.

Halstead equalised just before the break and Diss quite literally paid the penalty for missing those earlier opportunities when they conceded an 88th minute spot-kick to slip to a 2-1 defeat.

It is a set back for Diss but it was only their second defeat in the last 12 league games and they remain third.

In the Ridgeons Premier Division, there is a glimmer of hope for Wroxham in their bid to retain the title.

The Yachtsmen thrashed Stanway Rovers at Trafford Park, with Ben Thompson helping himself to a first half hat-trick, while the top two, Soham Town Rangers and Needham Market, both lost.

With plenty of games remaining there is still a chance, but Wroxham, who are 10 points off the lead, cannot afford to lose any games while hoping the others continue to wobble.
