Defty was on the scoresheet for the Linnets on Saturday |
King's Lynn moved a step closer to their dream of Conference football with a 5-0 victory over Yate. The win took the Linnets two points clear at the top of the Southern League with 10 games remaining.
Joe Francis scored twice taking his season's tally to 17 goals and Jack Defty, Matt Nolan and Greg Crane also scored at The Walks.
Lynn manager Keith Webb told BBC Radio Norfolk: "I'm delighted with this but there's a long way to go."
The Linnets were further boosted by a defeat for one of their nearest rivals Team Bath, who went down 2-1 at Hitchin Town. Halesowen Town moved up to second with a 3-2 win at Cirencester.
Webb added: "I've got no thoughts on the other two teams chasing promotion to the Conference with us. If we do the business we'll be OK."
King's Lynn's next match is against Bromsgrove Rovers on Saturday, 15 March.
