Konstantine Kadeev's goal two minutes from time earned Spartak Moscow a 1-0 victory over Rapid Vienna in Friday's Premier final at the Milk Cup. Artur Maloyan missed early chances as Spartak dominated but the second shoot-out of the night seemed on the cards as the game became bogged down.
However Spartak won a corner with two minutes remaining and Kadeev rose to head past goalkeeper Ertan Uzun.
Earlier, Spartak captain Mikhail Badyautdinov had hit the woodwork.
Kadeev set up Maloyan's first chance but the striker screwed the shot wide with the goal at his mercy.
Maloyan then missed another early chance before Rapid threatened when Mathias Muhr fired just wide with a snapshot in the 15th minute as the rain poured down at the Coleraine Showgrounds.
Spartak skipper Badyautdinov's shot crashed off the woodwork just before half-time although there was a suspicion that Rapid goalkeeper Uzun may have got a vital touch.
Rapid improved after the break and Piskunov had to make a vital block to stop an Angeler effort early in the second half and Stefan Palla then almost broke the deadlock with a free-kick which Spartak goalkeeper Gubin did well to push away.
Tumenko then had a chance for Spartak but his effort was deflected inches wide.
A penalty shoot-out seemed inevitable as they game entered its final minutes but then came Kadeev's clincher.
