Abramovitch has big plans |
Chelsea's new owner Roman Abramovich is understood to have drawn up a 150m list of transfer targets after taking over at Stamford Bridge.
Abramovich's arrival at Chelsea has sparked a frenzy of transfer speculation surrounding the elite of Europe's talent, with Ronaldinho the latest name to be linked with the London club.
And the multi-billionaire businessman made it clear he would not be holding back when it comes to transfer cash for coach Claudio Ranieri.
He said: "I don't look at this as a financial investment. I am looking at it as something to have fun with rather than an investment.
"I don't want to throw my money away, but it's really about having fun and that means success and trophies."
Chelsea have been linked with a list of players that reads like a who's who of European stars.
Ronaldinho's agent and brother Roberto Assis has revealed Chelsea have enquired about the Brazilian.
"There is also some interest from Chelsea, although there hasn't been an official offer put to the club yet."
AC Milan's revelation that they had turned down a 35m bid for defender Alessandro Nesta from an "English club" also pointed the finger firmly towards Chelsea.
And Chelsea are also now in a position to follow up their long-term interest in Barcelona's Patrick Kluivert and West Ham United midfield man Joe Cole.
Chelsea's name is being placed next to some of the world's most coveted transfer targets, including Arsenal pair Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira.
Also included in the Stamford Bridge speculative shopping list are AC Milan strilker Andriy Shevchenko and Juventus' Dutch international Edgar Davids.
AC Milan misfit Rivaldo has also been mentioned.
Even Ranieri himself may not be safe, as Roma coach Fabio Capello has been touted as the man Abramovich wants as Chelsea boss.
