Out-of-favour Aston Villa defender Alpay may have a future at the club, according to manager Graham Taylor. Taylor is willing to give the unsettled Turkish international another chance. (Daily Mail)

Terry Venables has pledged his future to Leeds as long as the club hold on to striker Alan Smith and goalkeeper Paul Robinson. (Daily Star)

Manchester City manager Kevin Keegan only signed striker Robbie Fowler after being given the seal of approval by Nicolas Anelka. (Daily Mirror)

Fenerbahce tried to launch a late bid for Arsenal striker Kanu, but the offer was rejected by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger. (Daily Star)

Newcastle striker Jermaine Jenas and Fulham midfielder Sean Davis have been targeted by England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson as future senior internationals. (Daily Express)
