Holders Blackburn Rovers will face Manchester United in the semi-finals of the Worthington Cup.

Graeme Souness's side travel to Old Trafford for the first leg in the week commencing 6 January, with the return at Ewood Park two weeks later.

Liverpool's reward for their thrilling quarter final win at Aston Villa is a semi-final clash with First Division Sheffield United.

Steve Gerrard, Liverpool's man of the match at Villa Park, said: "It's the draw we would have wanted but they will be no pushover.

"They will be two good games and we will have to pay them plenty of respect."
