Ryan Cummins who has created local history for a young fencer |
Twelve-year-old fencer Ryan Cummins has become the first Jersey youth to win a medal at the British Championships. Cummins finished third in the Under-12 sabre event, 15th in the epee and 34th overall in the foil at the event at Sheffield's Institute of Sports. "Ryan had an excellent result and well deserves his achievements," said Jersey Fencing Club president Dr Steve Cooke. "He has worked hard over the last few months which has paid off for him," Cooke added.
