Fifteen-year-old Ralph Spencer-Tucker has won the overall sabre class in the Jersey Junior Fencing Competition.

The Victoria College student fenced well, taking the title from under-18 winner Jonathon Bernstein.

In the under-16 foil class, William Bougourd tasted success, while 17-year-old Matthew Howard won the under-18 division.

Secretary of Jersey Fencing, Martha Bernstein, was impressed with the high level of skills produced on the day.

"They really have stepped up a gear today, they are really taking this very seriously," she said.
