Danielle Wyatt targets England women Ashes involvement

Stoke-on-Trent off-spinner Danielle Wyatt is hoping to be involved in the forthcoming women's Ashes.

The 19-year-old, who will experience her first chance of featuring for England women in a Test, intends to force her way into the team.

"I'm going to work really hard, we've got the one-dayers first so I need to show what I can do," she said.

The teenager, from Penkhull, received her first England women call-up in January for the tour of India.

"The last year has gone so quickly and I couldn't believe it when [coach] Mark Lane rang and said I was in the Ashes squad for Australia," added Wyatt.

"It's great to be playing in the same team as the likes of Charlotte Edwards and Claire Taylor. I'm always asking them for tips."

Wyatt is a regular member of the England Twenty20 squad but will fly out to Australia for the first one-day international at Perth on 5 January, with the Ashes Test beginning on Saturday 22 January.
