England skipper Charlotte Edwards celebrates as a wicket falls

England continued their remarkable unbeaten run, going 4-0 up in the one-day series against India with just one match of their summer remaining.

Having beaten South Africa 4-0 and West Indies 1-0, they did it the hard way in a match at Arundel reduced to 23 overs per side, India making 90-7 first up.

Conditions were not in favour of quick scoring, and England's required run rate grew in the middle overs.

But Claire Taylor's 56 not out allowed the hosts to win with five balls left.

England were 14-2 early on, but Taylor built steadily at first before accelerating in the closing stages.

Assistance was provided by Charlotte Edwards (17) and Lydia Greenway (12 not out).

Indian seamer Jhulan Goswami was superb, taking 1-8 from her five overs, but ultimately the tourists needed a few more runs to defend.

England's bowlers were led by Holly Colvin, the left-arm spinner taking 3-17 from five overs.
