Women's Test, Grace Road, day two (close): England 223 v India 238-7 Edwards led her team's fightback with a fine spell of bowling |
England's women fought back to reduce India to 238-7 on day two of their Test match at Leicester's Grace Road.
The tourists resumed on 11-1 replying to England's 223 and Katherine Brunt soon removed Monica Sumra before Jhulan Goswami put on 85 with Mithali Raj.
Star batter Raj was lbw to Jenny Gunn for 47 but India looked good for a big lead with Goswami (69) going strong.
However, she was one of two victims for skipper Charlotte Edwards as India fell away late on, only 15 runs in front.
