Sri Lanka selectors recall Silva

Sri Lanka have named two uncapped players in their squad for the forthcoming Test series in New Zealand.

Batsman Chamara Silva and seam bowler Akalanka Ganegama have been named in a 14-man squad for next month's games in Christchurch and Wellington.

They replace Michael Vandort and Rangana Herath, who were in the squad at home against South Africa in August.

Silva has also been chosen for the one-day series against the Kiwis, four years after his last appearance.

The selectors, meanwhile, have acceded to a request from former skipper Marvan Atapattu to only be included for the one-dayers.

He is playing it safe following a serious back problem and does not yet feel ready for five-day cricket.
